Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME universal extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domains can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. At first, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to buy john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level domain names remained functional.

Through our company, you can acquire your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to correct the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar company and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no particular restrictions on who can book a dot NAME domain, but in order to keep the objective behind its establishment alive, the Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.

The .NAME universal top-level extension is among the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no additional cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the accurate spelling in your native language.
